The Walsh Family

The Walsh family. Wow. So much to say.

For starters, I love the idea of a big family juicy with relationships, drama, and love. I enjoyed seeing the relationships between the sisters-in-law, the brothers, between the brothers and their wives, and the all important matriarch: Birdie.

Bridget Walsh aka Birdie is such a fun character. She is beautiful, bright, accomplished, interesting, and complicated. No one really knows the real Birdie. I especially like seeing Birdie through Shoshana's eyes. They have a unique relationship. Shoshana's future sisters-in-law see her as elusive, but Sho sees something different in her.

Watching Shoshana enter into the Walsh family is certainly a journey of trials and tribulations. It is a lot of pressure to become a Walsh. Shoshana is from a modest background and for her to see the over the top wealth and way the Walshes live life is not only overwhelming for Shoshana but also completely mind blowing.

Shoshana is engaged to the youngest brother, Andrew…Drew for short. Drew has three older married brothers.

Birdie's husband and the boys' father died years ago.

Here is the cast of main characters:

Matriarch:
Bridget "Birdie" Walsh

The Walsh brothers:
Erik Walsh, oldest brother married to Ariel
Alex Walsh, second oldest brother married to Rachel
Mark Walsh, third oldest brother married to Zoey
Drew Walsh, the youngest engaged to Shoshana

The Sisters-in-law:
Ariel Winters Walsh
Rachel Levy Walsh
Zoey Pierce Walsh

Becoming Mrs. Walsh:
Shoshana "Sho" Thompson soon to be Walsh

Some quotes from readers about the Walsh family:
  • "You will be entertained and so engrossed in the lives of the Walsh's that you will be asking for more!" - Christina Rodriguez, Christina's Book Reviews
  • "Too bad there isn’t another single brother so I could join the group! ;)" - Jessica's Book Review
  •  "I loved that this was a story of family, in-laws, and love.  Drew’s mother, Birdie, and all his brothers and sister-in-laws all accepted Sho, even with her not being as wealthy and glamorous as the rest of them." - Charlotte Lynns
  • "I found myself fascinated with the Walsh family and the core relationship theme of the story and how it relates to marriage, family and loyalty." - Jersey Girl Book Reviews

Check out Sho's journey and feel free to e-mail me at any time with thoughts on the book or the family or both!
